About Us

The Lawrenceville Heritage Project began as an attempt to record the memories and stories of Lawrenceville natives and admirers who remember life on the square from the Great Depression up to the end of World War II. Through these oral histories and the use of archived materials at the Gwinnett Historical Society, our aim has been to record the city’s history, traditions, and style of living that was suspended between city and farm life.

Due to the restoration currently taking place on the square, the project assists in protecting the historical significance of the buildings and the stories of the people who once inhabited them.

The project was envisioned and continually supported by the Morsberger Group and made possible through the guidance of Bill Baughman, Alice McCabe and the rest of the volunteers at the Gwinnett Historical Society.

This is an ongoing project and we are always looking to hear new stories, and your comments.
